So there I am, watching the ball game yesterday while playing around on Tweetdeck. The usual suspects were at it, dgoold, MatthewHLeach, 101espn, JohnMarecek and several bloggers and fans when it hit me – there are a hell of a lot of people tweeting away about Cardinals baseball.

For those of you who have been wondering about Twitter or haven’t heard of it (seriously?), here’s a great video – Twitter in Plain English – that will give you the down low.

It’s added a new element to Cardinals baseball for me that really highlights what social media is about – giving everybody and anybody a voice.  On top of that, it’s just plain freaking cool – whether it’s news straight from the media or funny conversations about the teams hair styles.

As I noted before, it’s just another very cool way to take in a game  (still have to get me some Shannon every now and then…) and a fall back for when you can’t get by your TV or radio (Twitter can go right to your mobile device).

I’ve started a basic list below of the must follows in Twitter with regards to the St. Louis Cardinals.  I’m also very aware that there are those I’ve left out, so please comment or send me a note and I’ll add you to a list – I plan on creating a Twitter Roll on the blog in the near future.
